Hi folks,
I was recently on Turkey Book Talk podcast with William Armstrong.
You can find the episode here.
We talked about how people think of earthquakes in Turkey, and how this one relates to the big 1999 Marmara earthquake. We then got into some of the politics of it.
I’ve also written an essay about some of the issues we talk about here. I think it’s becoming obvious that there was criminal neglect on a systemic scale here, and it’s going to be harder for the government to avoid in the coming months.
If you’re considering making a donation, here’s my previous post with some places. Turkey Book Talk also has a list here.
All the best,
Selim
