Hi folks,
Nick and I are back with another episode of the pod. This time we talked to Hümeyra Pamuk, a reporter at Reuters who covered Turkey 2002-2016, and for the past five years, has been covering the US State Department.
This means that she has looked at the Turkey-US relationship from both ends of the scope. I think that gives her a very rare perspective.
This episode is on the longer side, and we talked about a few different subjects, so I thought I'd give you guys timestamps:
1m-15m: Hümeyra's early career, covering Turkey in the optimistic 2000s and turbulent 2010s
15m-39m: Israel's war in Gaza and the US response
39m-end: Turkey-US relations
Below is a video to give you an idea of Hümeyra’s itinerary recently:
As always, let us know what you think!
I’ve recently talked to a couple of listeners who have asked me to speak faster. I hear you. I’m working on it! But note also that podcast apps let you speed up the audio, so please feel free to do that. I personally listen to everything at x2 speed.
Luckily, you won’t have to do that for this episode though. Hümeyra talks like a normal person, so you should be fine.
